Virtual Facilitation Training a Tremendous Success

Funding from the Seniors Community Grant Program allowed Active Aging Canada to train seven community leaders in Ontario on virtual facilitation using our resource Your Personal Passport to Healthy Living. Our two facilitators, Pasty Beattie-Huggan and Wendy Kraglund-Gauthier, PhD, who have been working with us since the creation of the Passport and training tools, did an outstanding job of virtually training the leaders and then guiding them through their own virtual facilitation with our eight older adults in a pilot of a virtual Passport to Healthy Living Workshop. Both the leaders and volunteer older adults found the training and workshop to be beneficial and the healthy lifestyle behaviour changes sustainable.

We hope to be able to build on this virtual pilot workshop and continue to offer them to older adults in the future.
