Looking for Adult Athletes for uOttawa Research Study on Athletic Identity - Sport psychology

I am currently recruiting adult/Masters athletes to participate in my new study at the University of Ottawa that is interested in understanding their experiences of their athletic identity.

Dear AAC community,

I’m reaching out to see if you'd be open to supporting my research by sharing my study recruitment materials with the adult/Masters athletes in your organization/team.

I’m working on my first study for my doctoral thesis, which looks at athletic identity in adult/Masters athletes (25 years and older). The goal is to gain deeper insights into athletic identity for these adult athletes. This research is important, especially with general physical activity levels declining in adults - identifying with a sport, or seeing oneself as an athlete, could be a meaningful way to help non-sporting adults stay connected to a healthy, active lifestyle.

If applicable, it would be great if you could help with recruitment, either electronically or at your physical location. For electronic recruitment, you could forward the attached Athlete Recruitment Letter to your adult/Masters athletes or post the Athlete Consent Letter on your website or social media (Instagram, Facebook). At your physical site, you could also display the Recruitment Poster in a spot where athletes will see it. Additionally, I’d love to know if you'd consider allowing me to recruit athletes in person at your organization or during an event.

Please don't hesitate to get in touch if you’d like to discuss further or if you have any questions. I will email you the required materials if interested!
