Welcome! and Newly Funded Initiative - Promoting Exercise is Medicine for Canadian Older Adults - Knowledge Translation

Hello Everyone, Thank you again for your membership in Active Aging Canada's Community of Practice and welcome to our newly launched message board. The goal of this additional communication mode is to be a space where as a collective group we can advance, share, and disseminate the knowledge of the key role of exercise in lifelong healthy aging. For example, I'd like to begin by sharing the news of a newly funded initiative. See below:

I'm please to be part of an applicant group along with the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology and Exercise is Medicine® Canada who just received funding for a project entitiled "Promoting 'Exercise is Medicine' for Canadian Older Adults"

In recognizing that for many older adults the primary care physician is most often the 'go-to' source for advice and clearance to begin an exercise program, we proposed creating a toolkit to support physicians in prescribing exercise for healthy aging.

As we begin this year-long  project, I welcome any feedback on content or resources to include in the tool-kit.

In the meantime, if you are not familiar with Exercise is Medicine® Canada, you can learn more here.
